Stop what you’re doing…

Well not right now…I mean, don’t stop reading this.  I just meant when you’re done reading this, stop what you’re doing and go check out my new blog…please….I’m really excited about it and would love to know what you think.

I started my very own blog this weekend, Alexandra’s View, due to the popularity of my ‘Thru My Eyes’ guest posts here on mom’s blog (Dabaw and Poppi love them).

I had actually planned on keeping it a secret from mom as to not hurt her feelings or anything, but then I realized that I kinda had to mention it on here so that you’d know about it.

It’ll be the same take on my life as a toddler big girl as on my posts here, only more often, and I can write whatever I want without mom monitoring it….Yeah!

I was hanging out in the basement the other day thinking about how I’m going to be three soon, and  I got to figuring that its about time to build up a little muscle for defending myself against my brother.

He’s eight, and pretty big, and although he can be lots of fun to play with, he bugs me alot too.  Up until now, the screaming thing has worked as a pretty good defense.  For example: Jarod bugs me then I scream at the top of my lungs and mom or dad comes to my rescue and he gets in trouble.  It’s been a great system for over 2 1/2 years…but unfortunately it hasn’t been working as well lately.   Sometimes I actually get in trouble for making a big fuss. 

Imagine that.  Me.  The baby, getting scolded.  Hmph!

So anyway, that’s why I’ve decided to start using the bowflex to ‘bulk up’….and the best part is bro bro is not allowed to use it.  OK, technically, I’m not allowed to use the bowflex either, but let’s remember, I am still the baby, and I can get away with alot more than him.  Plus, I’m pretty sneaky, so when mom’s not paying attention I quickly get a little work out in.

I’ll let you know my progress sometime, and maybe I’ll even post a photo of my muscles in a few weeks.

Let me start by saying how much I love helping mommy in the kitchen.  In fact anytime I see her near the counter I drag a chair over from the table so I can stand up on it and be of assistance. 

So yesterday when I saw her get out the big shiny bowl and a bunch of stuff, I got very excited and got my chair over there real quick and made mom move out of my way.

The putting in ingredients went well….I helped stir, but then we got to making the meatballs.

I tried…. I really did.  But making those things round is really difficult….and really icky.

My hands got all covered in stuff, and it felt gross.

I decided that making meatballs is not my forte and quit, and washed my hands.

And no, I didn’t feel bad leaving mommy to make all 93 meatballs without me, she had big sissy to help her.  And besides, I’ll help eat them.

I found this really neat little button in our fridge the other day.  

It makes the light go on and off.   It’s lots of fun!

Then mom complained about leaving the door open and something or other about breaking the switch…blah blah blah…you know how it is.   So I had to stop.

You should check your refrigerator, I bet you have one too!

I guess it’s part of being the youngest that I always get stuff last.

Like my knit blanket. 

Mommy made everyone elses before mine.  Now that she FINALLY started it she said it’s going to take her 6 months to finish it.   6 months!   What am I going to do with a knit blanket in the middle of August.

At least I really like the colors.   I even got to help pick them out because I’m such a big girl.

There I was enjoying my favorite pasttime….a bath, when i saw this!

I had a boo boo, I needed a bandage, there was something wrong with my skin!

Mom and sissy laughed and said I had just been in the water too long and my skin got wrinkly.

Sure, whatever, I trust you and all mom, but needless to say, I got out of there as quick as possible.

I have taken baths since the episode, but I keep them pretty short, and they’re not quite as fun as they used to be.

I was feeling a bit stylish today after raiding a box of baby clothes.  

It was time for a photo shoot.

Darn, I’m cute!

Today is mama’s 41st birthday.  (she said I shouldn’t write her age, but it’s my post so I have creative control.) 

Now normally it really wouldn’t faze me that it’s her birthday, but it does mean we will have ice cream cake later in the day and that’s a very good thing.  (daddy, let this serve as a reminder to get me…I mean mama, an ice cream cake after work.)

Plus she let me take some photos of her for her birthday, since the twins aren’t here to do it.

Now keep in mind, I will be the first to admit, my photo taking skills need some work.  It’s really hard to aim at something and then press that little button at the same time.

And then mama took over camera duties for a photo.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Yesterday was my Aunt Dawn’s birthday.

I love birthdays, there’s always cake and most importantly, ice cream….  and since it’s a special day, I get as much ice cream as I want.  And I got to help make the cake, and eat the coconut as we were making it.

I also get to help blow out the candles, although there was only one cnadle on this cake; and it was a zero. 

I’m not sure what that was all about but mom said something about after a certain age….  So I’m guessing she’s gonna want the zero candle on her cake next week too, since she’s only a year younger than Aunt Dawn.

Big People make no sense, more candles to blow out is more fun…

I will admit.

I am not a big fan of swings.

That whole up and down, flying through the air thing is not for me.  But that doesn’t stop everyone from trying to put me on them all the time, despite my quite vocal protests.

Now slides I love.

Can’t get enough of them.

And then mom had to put me in this tunnel thing for a photo op. 

I was unimpressed….just get me back to the slide!
